ZKTeco real-time data without a public IP.
Behind a router, on mobile data, at a remote branch. The machine connects out, so nothing needs to connect in.
You do not need a public IP, static IP, VPN or port forwarding to get real-time data from a ZKTeco machine. With Native Push the machine connects outbound to the Cams gateway. With Hybrid Push in Indirect mode, a Cams connector on a computer at the site reads the machine or database and connects out. Cams then delivers events to your server, AI assistant or ERP.

Two ways to connect
Native Push (no connector)
The machine itself sends punches to Cams. Works for Cams machines and for push-capable ZKTeco models verified at developer.camsbiometrics.com. Full API (all 38 operations). No public IP, no connector.
Hybrid Push, Indirect (connector at site)
For everything else. A Hybrid Connector (Hybrid Node / Middleware) on a computer at the site reads the device, database or attendance file and connects out to Cams. No public IP at the site. Needs a Hybrid Connector licence.
Where a public IP is still involved
Your server, if it receives webhooks, needs a public HTTPS callback URL. If you do not run a server, use an AI assistant connector or a workflow tool instead, which need none. In Hybrid Push Direct mode, Cams reads a database or machine at a public IP with port forwarding; Indirect mode avoids that.
Events are cached when a link drops and delivered later, and a period can be resent on request.
Check and connect
- 1
Verify the model
Use the free compatibility check at developer.camsbiometrics.com (about five minutes).
- 2
Enter the server address
Set the Cams server address and port shown for your model in the machine's cloud-server menu.
- 3
Watch it appear
The machine shows up in your machines list on its own.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to open any ports on my router?▾
Not for Native Push or Indirect Hybrid Push. The device or connector makes an outbound HTTPS connection.
Does it work on mobile data or a SIM router?▾
Yes, because the connection is outbound. Carrier NAT does not matter.
What about my own server?▾
It needs a reachable HTTPS callback URL, or use a workflow tool or AI connector that needs no server.
